Distributed computing cracks Enigma code
This reminds me of the power behind
Moore's Law. Cracking the Enigma codes using a brute force method currently takes a distributed computing environment. At some point in the future, it will be possible using a single PC in a day. Back in the 40's, people would have called you a nut at the thought of being able to brute force the code.
It's worth keeping in mind that things encrypted with what we consider stong encryption today, will be breakable in the future.
