Last week saw the release of Red Hat Enterprise Linux 5. This also brought with it quite a number of security updates just for Red Hat Enterprise Linux 5. I'm not listing them below since they are numerous, and were all fairly old updates. When a release is prepared we have to freeze things a couple of months before the final release to work out all the kinks. We deal with this freeze by collecting the updates until release day, then releasing them all at once. This can make our errata statistics a bit misleading as it appears that Red Hat Enterprise Linux 5 had 11 security updates on one day. In reality, these updates should be viewed as a part of the release.
